S. TEXAS POLKA & SAUSAGE FEST @ HALLETTSVILLE in March

Hallettsville is the place to be March 22, 23 & 24, 2013.  That’s a Friday through Sunday, and it happens every year ont the fourth weekend of March.  It’s held at the KC Hall and is a very popular event.  Friday night Texas Legacy Czech Band will provide music for dancing from 7-10:30 PM.  The fish fry starts at 5 PM and you can dine in or buy plates to go.  Saturday they have a polka Mass at 3 PM, and then the meal begins at 4 PM.  Music will be by the ever-popular Dujka Brothers and Jodie Mikula from 5-11 PM.  Sunday’s meal will be sold starting at 10:30 AM, and the Shiner Hobo Band will play from 11 AM-1 PM, followed by a battle dance from 1-8 PM featuring the Red Ravens, the Czechaholics and Fritz Hodde & the Fabulous Six, with a 3-band concert from 4:30-5 PM.  These folks know how to put on a festival and how to cook!  Food will include sausage, sauerkraut, German potatoes and kolaches, as well as homemade chicken noodle soup (sold separately), and on Sunday you can also get fried chicken.  There are some camper hook-ups available; motels also are in the area.  For more information visit www.kchall.com or call 361/798-2311.  It’s a fun festival, not to be missed by polka aficionados!
